Patricia Reider – English 110

CLO#8: Practice systematic application of citation conventions.

This has always been standard procedure with any essay writing. Different professors will assign different styles, but I did follow the MLA style taught in this class for its assignments.

A citation from my expository essay:

According to The Economist:  “There are over 1,000 varieties of wild bananas in the world. But 95% of banana exports come from a single cultivated variety, the Cavendish. They are basically clones, that is, genetically identical plants. This means they do not have seeds and are nicer to eat.” (J.P. Economics.com).”

Another citation from my argumentative essay:

According to the well know rule of threes for sustaining life, a life will be in crises after three minutes without air, after three days without water, or after three weeks without food (Wiseman 8).

I know that at first,f I was using footnotes and the Chicago Style of citation, but my error was kindly pointed out to me and the appropriate changes were made. Now, I pay strict attention to the style required for any assignment as one of the initial points of my writing.
